Local Living Legends Tribute Celebration

Local Living Legends…“Living the Dream…Sharing the Love” a tribute to and celebration of 6 homegrown Black History Makers will be held February 15th during the monthly Downtown Durham Third FridayArt Walk.

There will be a reception from 5pm to 9pm with FREE Entertainment , FREE Refreshments, FREE Admission and FREE Gifts for ALL People in downtown Durham at 108 Morris Street (beside the Durham Arts Council building near 5 Points).

Photographers inspired by the 95-year-old LOCAL LIVING LEGEND, world renowned photojournalist Alex Rivera, will be highlighted along with graphic and performing artists.

On Saturday February 16th a tribute celebration program honoring the Local Living Legends along with a multicultural art show and Expo will be held from 11am-5pm honoring the 6 Local Living Legends.

Photojournalist Alex Rivera, broadcaster Ervin L. Hester entrrepreneur George Bell Jr., politician Howard Clement III, educator Lonita Whitted and Kenneth Edmonds for his mother publisher Vivian Alston Edmonds are all scheduled to attend.

This FREE for ALL People Celebration will also feature FREE Health Checks and a FREE Kids Coloring Station. Business & Community Leaders and vendors with unique cards and gifts for special occasions will all be on site for guests to experience a sampling of local and emerging talent.
