The Annual OUR HOUSE Exhibit & The Lakeview Arts Program Exhibit in the Semans Gallery

The OUR HOUSE exhibit is a showcase of works by Durham Arts Council Students, Instructors, CAPS Artists, Staff, and Board Members. This exhibit features a diverse mix of paintings, photography, mosaics, clay, fiber, and mixed media. We are proud of the fine work assembled here. As you experience the OUR HOUSE exhibit, it is our hope that you will feel inspired. We invite you to participate in the exciting programs and classes offered here at the Durham Arts Council so that you too can become a part of OUR HOUSE!

The Lakeview Arts Program exhibit features creative works by students who attend Lakeview School. Guided by CAPS Teaching Artists: Lisa Twitty, Kristin Linton, Kenny Dalsheimer, Kim Arrington, Rachel Galper, Braima Moiwai, and Teli Shabu. Lakeview students have produced an array of hand dyed fabrics, poems, drawings and paintings, and books. Through DAC.s CAPS program, this Durham Public Schools/Durham Arts Council partnership provides creative and interactive residencies that teach core subject (math, science, writing, social studies), character education and a variety of life skills through the arts on a daily basis to the students attending both the Bacon Street and the Dearborn Drive campuses of the Lakeview School. We extend thanks to the staffs at Lakeview, Mr. Elton O’Neal and Mrs. Janet Cherry for your continued support of this partnership.
