New exhibit / open studios

in the foyer gallery...

Handed Down: new wall quilts by Jeana Eve Klein.

Handed Down gathers imagery and materials from inherited sources with their own histories: abandoned toys, leftover fabric scraps, convoluted childhood memories. Klein’s large-scale wall quilts are fraught with narrative suggestion and ripe for viewer interpretation.

A former Antfarm studio mate of Dave's, Jeana Eve Klein is an Assistant Professor in the Art Department at Appalachian State University and also teaches at craft centers such as Penland and Arrowmont. Jeana earned her undergrad degree at NC State School of Design and her MFA in studio art from Arizona State University. Her work is exhibited nationally and has appeared in Surface Design Journal and American Craft.

The exhibit will be up through Sept 25 and the foyer gallery is open every Friday from noon until 2 as well as by appt (949 4847).
