Caryl Feldacker recently completed her PhD in Health Behavior at UNC, and she works in international health and development. These photos come from India, Malawi, and Vietnam, all places where Caryl works in HIV prevention, cholera prediction, and rural development programs. Although she often takes portraits of people, some of her favorite photos are of people’s hands and feet, capturing the difficulty that characterizes the lives of many people in the developing world. Photos from her collection have been shown in Washington DC., St. Louis, North Carolina, Brazil and Ecuador. Her next assignment will be in Angola, November, 2009.
