Come visit the office of Durham Central Market , a new neighborhood cooperative grocery, aiming to locate in the heart of Durham, and view the wonderful mixed media artworks by local artist Denee' Black!

Denee’ Black is an artist based in Raleigh, NC. She primarily works in mixed media; involving acrylic, polymer transfers, photography and collage. Having a background in design, her work is also highly influenced by typography, lines, shapes and form.

She is currently developing two separate series, involving the same techniques, with different subjects. One involves the way that she sees her surroundings: in bold blocks of shapes and vibrant colors. She envisions entire live spaces and moments as complete works of art. These visual ‘snapshots’ are then translated into mixed media pieces. The other series is about relating to others, on an emotional level. She uses images of herself to convey a range of emotions. These powerful images are then presented, in an honest and direct manner, to the viewer.
