New ceramic work by Susan Feagin and Alyssa Wood

In this exhibit, two North Carolina ceramic artists apply the tools of their trade in search of the intransient! Susan Feagin’s journalistic vessels evoke scrap paper collages made from pieces of letters, newspaper clippings, and diary or sketchbook pages, collected into useful forms. Alyssa Wood’s drawings on earthenware of herbs and vegetables from her garden and the local farmer’s market in Davidson, North Carolina, explore the ephemeral nature of life and the desire for permanence in the face of that brevity.

In addition to the opening reception, Claymakers’ resident artists Roberta Wood, Charlie Evergreen, Courtney Pernell, Nana Abreu, and Laura Korch will open their studios to the public, showing sculptural and functional work.
